What has WDA Americas done?
-Raised dialogue on dance to an international level through our Assemblies and by our presence through hemisphere
-Given dance a platform in cities and countries where Assemblies have been held:
New York (1993), Mexico City (1995), Vancouver, B.C. (1997), Philadelphia (1999), San José, Costa Rica (2001), Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (2003)
-Assisted in changing pension and tax laws in Argentina, Canada and Costa rica to aid dance and dancers
Assisted in the international exchange of companies, teachers and dancers
- Formed networks of people with simmilar interests and aims to help create a better future for dance and dancers
-By our existence, helped empower dancers in member countries, often assisting individual choreographers and schollars
-Annually co-sponsor International Dance Day (April 29) with the International Dance Comittee of ITI / UNESCO
