President

World Dance Alliance - Americas

The President shall be the Chief Executive Officer of the WDA-Americas. The Chief Executive Officer is the overall, primary management and leadership role in WDA-Americas. Therefore, it's critical that candidates have strong knowledge and skills in a wide variety of areas.
Recommended Roles & Responsibilities of President
Leader

  • Advises the WDA-Americas Current Administrative Leadership (CAL) (consists of the Board Members, Vice-Presidents, Network Co-Chairs, and Appointed Positions who have administrative voting privileges within WDA-Americas)
  • Advocates / promotes WDA’s mission
  • Supports motivation of volunteers in WDA programs and operations
  • Assures WDA’s mission, programs, products, and services are consistently presented in strong, positive image
  • Ensure the coordination and management of Current Administrative Leadership meetings

 

Visionary / Information Bearer

  • Ensures Membership and CAL have sufficient and up-to-date information
  • Looks to the future for opportunities of organizational growth and service expansion
  • Represents WDA-Americas to local and global communities and the larger WDA organization

Decision Maker

  • Formulates policies and planning recommendations to CAL
  • Decides or guides courses of action in operations by committees and volunteers

 

Manager

  • Oversees general operations of WDA-Americas
  • Facilitates development and implementation of organizational plans
  • Manages financial and physical resources of WDA-Americas
  • Oversees design, marketing, promotion, delivery, and quality of WDA-Americas’ programs, products, and services
  • Recommends yearly budget for CAL approval and prudently manages organization's resources within those budget guidelines according to current laws and regulations

Board Developer

  • Assists in the sourcing of potential board members and advising of new Board Members
  • Makes recommendations and supports CAL during orientations and self-evaluations

 

Vice Presidents

World Dance Alliance – Americas

(North America, Central America, and South America)

The Vice Presidents serve as WDA-Americas leadership representative within their respective Region. As such, they carry out many of the same Roles and Responsibilities as the President with emphasis of development within their respective region. In the absence of the President, the Vice Presidents shall perform all duties of the President and shall have such powers and duties as the Board or the President assigns.

Leader

  • Advises the Network Co-Chairs, committees, and volunteers within their respective Region
  • Advocates / promotes WDA’s mission within their Region
  • Supports motivation of volunteers in WDA programs and operations within their Region
  • Assures WDA’s mission, programs, products, and services are consistently presented in strong, positive image within their region

Visionary / Information Bearer

  • Ensures membership and CAL have sufficient and up-to-date information within and about their Region by communicating relevant topics in a timely manner.
  • Provides a written Regional Report to be shared at the main annual CAL meeting then disseminated to the WDA-Americas membership
  • Looks to the future for opportunities of organizational growth and service expansion within their Region
  • Represents WDA-Americas to Regional communities

Decision Maker

  • Guides courses of action in operations by committees and volunteers within their Region
  • Manager
  • Implements plans developed by CAL within their Region
  • Oversees marketing, promotion, delivery, and quality of WDA-Americas’ programs, products and services within their Region

Board Developer

  • Assists in the sourcing of potential board members and advising of new Board Members

Additionally, the Vice Presidents are responsible for bringing regional needs to the attention of CAL, assisting in the overall management of WDA-Americas as assigned by the President or Board, and voting on WDA-Americas issues presented at the CAL meetings.

 

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is the body that sits as the trustees of the World Dance Alliance -  Americas. It is a prestigious elected position whose primary responsibilities are to carry out the purposes of the Alliance, oversee the support and evaluation of executive and network positions, actively participate in the overall planning process and assist in implementing and monitoring organizational goals, assist in securing adequate resources for the organization to fulfill its mission, enhance the organization's public standing, and to oversee the organization's adherence to legal standards and ethical norms.
