World Dance Alliance maintains several ongoing projects through its world-wide networks and global affiliations.  All projects are volunteer driven and coordinated.

  • Digital Dance Concert: The World Dance Alliance – Americas announces a call for dance-for-camera works for the second annual WDAA Digital Dance Concert, a double-blind reviewed online presentation of videoed choreographies and dance films created specifically for the camera. The Digital Dance Concert aims to offer a virtual platform for choreographers, companies, and dance filmmakers to present, promote, and disseminate their work.
  • Journal of Emerging Dance Scholarship (JEDS):  The World Dance Alliance is pleased to announce the initiation of a blind-reviewed publication (in English) specifically designed for the needs of emerging dance scholars, those scholars currently enrolled in a graduate program or within 5 years of having graduated from a graduate program in dance or a related field.  JEDS will be published online and available as an open resource demonstrating original dance research.   Articles will be selected to assure dance scholarship from around the world is included in each publication.
  • International Young Choreographers Project (IYCP): The IYCP is sponsored by WDA-AP and the Chinlin Foundation (Taiwan). IYCP is held annually in July during a three-week residency for emerging choreographers.  Eight choreographers are chosen through an adjudicated process: 3 from Taiwan, 3 from the Asia Pacific region, one from WDA-A and one from WDA-E. Applicants must be WDA-A members in good standing. The IYCP provides the WDA-A resident with $1,200 to cover cost of airfare. IYCP coordinators also provide lodging and a small budget for production elements. Pre-professional dancers in Taiwan form a “company” of young artists with whom choreographers will work. Watch for the posted call (cv, sample work, project proposal) to come out in early December each year.
